Contest Introduction & Deliverables

AVHA values creativity over perfection in this 48-hour challenge, aiming to promote the innovative integration of AI tools within Virtual Production (VP) workflows. The contest challenges teams to complete a full-cycle production—from design to live-action compositing—within 48 hours, proving that stories created under these constraints can effectively serve as pitch-vis or for further story incubation.

• Participating members are limited to student teams of no more than 3 people. Teachers or instructors are NOT ALLOWED to perform production tasks, including hardware handling and software operation.

• The total production time, covering everything from design to
final filming and compositing, must not exceed 48 hours. All entries must be entirely original and created specifically during the contest period.

• A 2-5 min video which contains real or virtual human acting in self-designated virtual scenes.  At least 30% of the video should be real-time composited shots utilizing LED Wall, XR Stage, or green screen techniques, with real human or physical objects.

• Teams must use a virtual production platform such as Unreal Engine, Aximmetry, Disguise, or Camverse, or the equivalent technology.

• AI Integration Requirement: Teams must incorporate at least two types of AI tools from the following categories:

*AI-generated digital assets, character design, 3D modeling, or scene generation.
* AI animation, motion interpolation, or facial animation.
* AI scriptwriting, storyboarding, or shot planning.
* AI-driven camera paths or lighting simulation.
* AI-assisted sound processing: text to voice, voice changing, lip syncing, etc

• Assets must be thoroughly described in the Process Documentation. All AI-generated content must be accompanied by a clear explanation of the workflow, tool sources, and usage details.

• Assets can also be acquired from marketplaces like the Epic store as long as they are legally obtained with legitimate copyright. Additional modelling, video editing, or music libraries should be the participating teams’ own responsibility.

• Teams must submit a Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) video (max 5 minutes) documenting the process, including both AI design and live-action filming. This documentation must detail the asset creation workflow and tools used, accounting for 10% of the final score.

• Teams must submit a poster relevant to their film.

Attention:
Submitting the application form does not mean you have been accepted for the contest.  After review, a formal notification of successful registration & a serial number will be sent to the mailbox you filled in when you applied.
